THE 515 REPORT 📰

Vermeer Announces Facility in Bondurant

Vermeer Corporation is investing $102.7 million in a new 300,000-square-foot production facility in Bondurant. The project will sit on roughly 186 acres and is expected to create more than 180 jobs initially, with capacity to grow beyond 300 positions over time.

Hubbell Planning Development in NE DSM

Hubbell Realty is seeking approval to build 508 single-family homes on 170 acres along East Douglas Avenue. The development, called The Woodmont, would be the company’s largest traditional single-family community in Des Moines in at least a decade.

The estimated $150 million project could take roughly 15 years to complete. Site work on the first 45 lots may begin as early as March, with homes projected in the $300,000 to $400,000 range.

Agrihood Town Center Moves Forward

The first phase of a new agrihood-style town center near Cumming is moving ahead. The development blends agricultural land with residential and mixed-use space, with roughly 30% of the property preserved for farming or open space.

Developers say the goal is to integrate food production, recreation, and housing within a single community footprint.
